Tuesday April 30: BZPower hacked

The popular Bionicle forum BZPower has been hacked by an immature Twitter user, and is currently down, with no sign of coming back online any time soon.

The criminal posted two news stories on the front page, and made many vulgar posts on the forum. He then gloated about his criminal activity on Twitter. His account has since been suspended. It is unknown why the criminal did it, but the most popular theory is that he was lonely and only wanted attention.

BZPower staff say they've closed the security hole and have a complete backup of the forum pre-hack, but it is currently unknown when the forum will be up and running again.

Because of this incident, the BZPower branch of our club is unavailable until further notice.

Until next time!

Thursday March 8 2012: A way BIONICLE parts could be added to LEGO Digital Designer

A thread currently exists on a forum called Eurobricks, where members can post what kind of parts they would like to see in the Lego Digital Designer (LDD). It is hoped that members could post requests for more Bionicle parts, so people can make custom characters using LDD. This can improve models like those that appear in the CUUSOO project BIONICLE: The Legend Continued and the deviantArt image The Toa Team That Never Was, which are currently forced to use HF parts to represent their models.

I strongly suggest joining Eurobricks and adding your two cents to the thread. Apparently the thread has a 90% success rate regarding new elements, PLUS it could have a ripple effect that could see Bionicle's interest pick up, maybe enough to become worthy of a comeback!

Until next time!

Sunday February 12 2012: BIONICLE: Showdown in development

EDIT: A link to their forum has been provided, and will be added to the Projects page

Recently, a group of game developers has gotten together to create a Bionicle-themed Super Smash-style computer game! Little is known about the game at this stage, but rest assured that we will update with more info and maybe even screenshots of the game as development continues.

A demo version of the game is currently in production.

The project has been added to the Projects page. A link to the game or site will be added once we have one.

Be sure to stay tuned for more updates as they come!

Until next time!

Friday February 3 2012: Updates regarding projects on LEGO CUUSOO

It has just been brought to my attention that the Bring Back Bionicle project has also been removed from LEGO CUUSOO's site. Naturally, this is a massive blow to our project. Following is a blog entry by LEGO CUUSOO regarding this and similar projects:

Removing “Bring Back” Projects

LEGO CUUSOO is designed for you to submit your own new and original ideas to be considered as potential LEGO products. Since “bring back” projects are links to retired products the LEGO Group owns, they aren’t original or new and aren’t appropriate for CUUSOO. We will be contacting owners of “bring back” projects and removing them over the course of the next week.

Curiously, my project regarding the baterra remains active, which means the reason for the removal of the other projects previously listed remain unclear. A comment on said project also points against Bionicle's likely return, but does give an interesting revelation:

I hope this project makes it! One of the CUUSOO staff members said that a whole theme is unlikely to be brought back (sadly that puts my project into doubt) but new single BIONICLE sets could be released if they get enough votes! So please, support this project!

This means that it could still be possible for Bionicle sets to be released without an actual comeback if projects like this gather enough support. Despite what the staff member said, he may only mean that toylines cannot be brought back via CUUSOO (toylines have been brought back in the past), so if such a project does get passed and result in the release of another Bionicle set, it may yet lead to a possible comeback of the line, so please do support projects like this!

I will add a new tally to the deviantArt branch of the club, as well as BZPower, and the sets that get the most support, I will make new projects for on LEGO CUUSOO!

Until next time!

Friday January 27 2012: CUUSOO projects removed

Last November we reported a series of LEGO CUUSOO projects for individual Bionicle sets. All of these projects have been removed. It is not known who removed them, or why they removed them. Either way, it is considered a blow to our quest, a sign that we are losing support.

Again, I call for everyone to find as many people as you can to join our cause, before it's too late!

Until next time!
